• What differentiates Alta Racks from everyone else?

  We understand that other companies value ease of use and a beginner-friendly interface. However, in the long run, these good-intentioned features end up uncovering weakness in the rack, including instability, easily broken parts, and requiring, in many cases, a replacement of the entire rack.

  Our racks are for those who value long lasting products and who, with a little time, are willing to become familiar with their bike racks. We prioritize stable and precise engineering, no-compromise, heavy duty parts, and a fully modular system that allows each rack to adapt to every change in life.

• What do you mean your bike racks are "modular"?

  Each rack comes with a “Vertical Post” that makes up the foundation of each bike rack. These posts include an upper and lower bar that carry the front and rear wheel of your bikes. These bars can be replaced and upgraded/converted to increase/decrease the rack’s carrying capacity.

  Along with these bars, each rack includes a respective number of baskets that cradle each front wheel, and are mounted to the top bar. Each basket can be moved horizontally across the bar to fit your bikes’ needs and can be removed, added, and upgraded, depending on the rack variation’s capacity.

  All this, plus a variety of accessories, mounts, and add ons, you’ve got yourself a fully modular rack that adapts to whatever need arises!

• What tools do I need to work on my Alta bike rack?

  We use a 9/16″, 15/16″, and 3/4″ wrench & socket wrench for adjusting all of our products. We are happy to adjust your rack for you if you are local. However, if you do plan on purchasing any of our racks from us, we highly recommend you take a look at our Alta Multi-Tool Set, or purchase tools for your own use, as tuning will be necessary.

• What are the clearance measurements for Alta Racks?

• How does purchasing a rack and shipping/pickup work?

  When you select a rack from our shop page, you will be directed to the rack product you have selected where you will choose the color of your Vertical Post, Alta Baskets, an option for the Alta Swinger (swing out), Hitches, and various other accessories. When you have virtually built your rack, checked out, and have made the order, you will receive a confirmation email, and later, an invoice when your order has been processed.

  For shipping, we currently ship to the US, Canada, and US Military installations around the world, and will be shipped immediately if the products are in stock. However, for those who are local (we are located in Murray, Utah), we also offer a local pickup option, where you can opt to pick up your rack in box (no appointment required), or have us build and install it for you on your vehicle (appointment required). The link for making the appointment for an install will be in the order confirmation page after purchase and in your order confirmation email.

• Do you ever have any special deals on bike racks?

  We offer discounts to biking teams and NICA. Details on that can be found HERE. Unfortunately, we do not hold any seasonal sales or do military discounts.

  There are many options to choose from when it comes to bike racks. We have a dedicated video tutorial page, as well as a youtube channel, so you can research to your heart’s content.
