The ALTA SIX Extender is not your typical extender. Three positions allow for 9 to 11-inches of extension from your vehicle’s receiver, so it’s perfect for Sprinters, Econolines, NVs, and Dodges, Transits, and all double-door vans to get full door opening along with the Kickout Adapter. Also great for truck campers that go over the tailgate. The ALTA SIX Extender can be rotated to lower the rack. Retractable Straps work great with the Extender, or you can use your own ratcheting straps.
Powder coated for durability and machined for precision, we use 1/4 steel tubing to create a solid system for extending ALTA bike racks. The ALTA SIX Extender features a double 5/8 bolt interface for a solid connection and includes an Internal Stabilizer for interfacing to the vehicle’s receiver. Use your ALTA Rack’s external stabilizer to connect the ALTA SIX Extender to your vehicle and double bolt you ALTA Rack into the ALTA SIX Extender.

The slam latch creates a quick and easy loading process. Lift the slam latch, tilt the rack back, and load your bikes. When you’re all set, push the rack back into its upright position, lock it back in with the slam latch, secure the OSP (Outer Safety Pin), and you’re good to go

¹Wheel size can be adjusted between specified wheel size ranges with Wheel Chokes (not included with baskets). Wheel Choke recommendations for regular baskets (General, Mid-Fat, Fat) are as follows:
*HD Baskets have a higher individual weight capacity than non-HD Baskets, and can carry up to 70lbs with E-Bike Straps on Superior Racks, and 60lbs with E-Bike Straps on non-Superior Racks

Bike Straps – Each Rack comes with 2 custom straps per included basket, one to secure the front wheel to the basket, and one to secure the back wheel to the bottom bar
OSP (Outer Safety Pin) – The OSP adds an extra measure of safety to secure the system in place, and allows for the rack to tilt away from the hitch when removed for easy loading and unloading
Tensioner – The adjustable tensioner bolt allows for more or less space for the rack to tilt back. Higher tension equals slower tilt, and lower tension equals faster tilt. We recommend adjusting toward the tighter side for heavier loads
Hitch – Each Alta Rack comes with a hitch to attach to your vehicle. Non-Superior Racks come with a General Hitch and Superior Racks come with an XL Hitch by default. However, you can switch these hitches out depending on your clearance needs
Baskets – Every Alta Rack includes a set number of baskets that cradle the front wheel of your bikes. They can be switched out for different sizes and moved around for more or less space by loosening or tightening the basket knobs below
E-Bike Straps – E-Bike straps are not included in most racks, but are highly recommended for all bike types (especially heavier E-bikes) for a higher weight capacity per basket. They strap on to your bike pedals to put less weight in the basket and more on the top bar
Retractable Straps – Two Retractable Straps come with every Superior Rack for added stability and security for your bikes. We recommend tying down the straps directly to your vehicle (not to the hitch) placed high or low (top or bottom of your vehicle), and angled wide
Low Bar – The Low Bar is an integral part of each rack system, providing limitless positioning for rear bike wheels. The straps on the low bar allow for any wheel size to fit snugly during transport
Gussets – Unique to the Alta Superior Rack, the Gussets extend from the bottom of the vertical post to the ends of the top bar, providing greater support, rigidity, and weight capacity
Gear Hanger – This accessory lets you hang helmets, water bottles, camel backs, and other gear directly on the rack. It is purchased separately and is a great addition for storage on your Alta Rack system
Brake Engagers – Two brake engagers are included with each basket and are generally stored on the basket knobs. These attach directly to your bike brakes to engage them and prevent your bike wheels from moving, creating less movement during transport
Main Beam – The main beam is the core of each Alta Rack. Even after switching out top and bottom bars, baskets, or hitches, it is the part that stays with you to the very end. Comes in awesome colors, too
Top Bar – The long bar that extends from the main beam at the top. It carries all your baskets and is a big player in how we customize our racks. The simple, yet robust design allows for limitless modularity with baskets, accessories, and mounts
A Regular Locking Hitch Bolt comes with every ALTA rack. Most vehicles are good to go.

Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I can’t open both doors on my 2019 low roof Ford transit . Right door opens with an inch or less of clearance but left door does not open . Website states that tow hitch should be flush with bumper but that is not possible on Ford transit unless you weld tow hitch on . The bolt on hitch does not sit flush and is recessed which is causing the issue of door not fully opening .

Not as advertised. It does not come with the external hitch stabilizer to interface with vehicle receiver. The pics and description include this part but it is not included with the extension. Per Ali, I could buy one from him or get one from Amazon. I will not be spending any more money with Ali.
