Very solid lock and cable. Works well for securing rack to vehicle. This is the intention of this product. Keep in mind that the cable is only 6ft. If you are buying this to lock bikes to the rack, you are going to need to buy a longer cable depending on the number of bikes you have.

If you guys offered a longer cable to be able to lock bikes to the rack I would have bought that as well. Even just another cable to attach to the U lock that was longer would be awesome.

Noted, we will check a 20 foot cable option for future.

Does what it needs to do to lock the rack to your vehicle.

Fits perfectly to lock the rack to hopefully prevent theft. Given the overall cost of the rack, it’s well worth the investment and piece of mind to have this in place. I keep the rack locked 24/7 which means I generally don’t use the feature to lower the rack before mounting the bikes inside the baskets. However, I’ve had zero issues getting the bikes in the rack and I’m 5’8″.

The cable is too short to use with the one lock.

100 percent correct, as per instruction the cable is to lock the rack to vehicle, you’ll need a second cable for bikes, and that length depends on the number of bikes. Thanks for your correct review.
