Winter Sports Vertical Mount with Bucket

The ALTA Bucket is the hybrid upgrade to the Winter Sports Vertical Carrier system—built to protect your skis and boards while adding real utility to your rack year-round. This setup includes the ALTA Bucket itself along with the Winter Sports Vertical Mount interface, giving you a structured and secure platform for mounting a single clamshell-style ski or snowboard carrier of your choice. Use your current clamp or bolt on a Rhino Rack unit (sold separately, sold in pairs).

The ski carrier mounts to a single horizontal bar supported by the extending arms on the vertical beam, providing an adjustable clamp height between 37 and 49 inches off the bucket floor. This gives you precise control for binding clearance and ensures a secure, rattle-free hold for a wide range of skis and boards. The bucket walls are slotted for optional strapping and are fully compatible with ALTA Wheel Straps for additional retention.

When the snow melts, the ALTA Bucket keeps earning its place. Swap the ski mount for the ALTA Tool Carrier and you’ve got a dedicated spot for your trail-building or dig-day tools—shovels, McLeods, rogue hoes, and more. The bucket design keeps dirty tools and wet gear outside your vehicle, making it a smart, all-season accessory for riders, builders, and overland travelers.

The ALTA Bucket system can be mounted on either side of the rack—vehicle side or bike side—and is compatible with short, general, and XL hitch assemblies, as well as the General Purpose Platform (GPP). Hole patterns in the bucket floor align directly with the GPP for seamless mounting.

Note: Running this system without the rack’s top horizontal bars requires a top bar bracket (not included). Please note this requirement at checkout.
